RULES

Playing rules.

1. 2- 7 inning games starting at 9 A.M. with a 15 minute grace period. Each team needs to start the game with 8 players from the

own team or forfeit occurs. Each team can borrow players from the other field if available to make up the 10 after 8. 8 players

must be on the field for a team to play.

2. Rain out decision will be made each Sunday by 7:30 AM by the league officers. The president is responsible for notifying umpires

and each team managers.

2a. It is each individual managers responsibility to notify each any every player assigned to their individual team.

3. Games rules

a. This is a modified Softball league there is no windmill, sling shot of bringing the arm above the head allowed from the

pitchers. Any of the above will produce and illegal pitch and will be awarded a ball in the count.

b. There is a 12 foot arc limit.

c. We follow all ASA rules for pitching rubber distances.

d. There is no stealing of any kind

e. The base runner can’t leave the base until the pitcher releases the pitch. If the runner leaves early deemed by the umpire

that runner will be out.

f. Each week the players are mandated to wear their sponsored game jersey. Each player is allowed one week without a shirt.

g. There is no bunting of any kind. Will result in automatic out.

h. Sliding is permitted but not required. Runner must avoid contact with fielders and catcher.

i. There is no taking out the catcher allowed at home plate. Catcher may not set up in the base path. Runner must avoid contact.

j. Only the team managers are allowed to discuss a call with the umpires. First offense is a warning. Second offenses will result in

being ejected from the rest of that game.

k. There is a mercy rule for Game 2 only. If a team is up by 15 runs after the fifth inning the game will be called. The home team

will be allowed to play their half of the inning to catch up. The mercy rule is not in effect for the playoffs.

l. Each team has 15 active players with a maximum of 16. Each player must play a minimum of 7 full innings in the field each

week.

m. Each team bats a Extra Hitter for a total of up to 11 batters. This does not count for the 7 innings of mandated field play

unless injury related and approved by the opposing coach or league officers.

n. Dead balls - if a player carries the ball out of the legal playing field the runners may advance at their own risk.

o. All out of bounds areas on both Doyon 1 and Doyon 2 will be marked off prior to the games.

p. Pinch runners- Each opposing team will be allowed to pick a pinch runner from the players first not in the game and on the

bench if none are available then the team may select an individual from the active team to run.

4. There is no fighting of any kind allowed.

4a. 1st offense –Suspended the rest of the playing year.

4b. 2nd offense suspended 3 years.

4c. 3rd offenses suspended for life with no chance for reins
